We are committed to developing the education of healers in the UK through our Continuing Professional and Personal Development (CPPD) programme.
This programme consists of a series of day and weekend events that are run on a regular basis.
In September 2010 we held our first ‘Introduction to CPPD’ day for Surrey Healing Association. This was attended by 20 healers who thoroughly enjoyed the day and found it very informative, clarifying the meaning of CPPD and what was expected of healers. On 30th October 2010 we held our second event in London, a Study Day on the topic of ‘Working with Difficult Cases’ with three excellent speakers. Dr Andrew Powell’s subject was the relevance of mental health problems in spiritual healing; Dawn Redwood spoke about healing in serious and terminal illness and Diane O’Connell spoke about the importance of self care for healers (see Programme). With over 60 attending everyone had plenty of opportunity to enjoy networking. Some of the attendees commented they did not often get to meet healers from other organisations so felt this was a particularly important part of the day.
The first event of 2011 was also held in London, this time looking at ‘Healing Perspectives in Cancer Care’. Jane Mellett gave the first presentation on the impact of cancer on a family and the role of the family as healer; Dr Eleni Tsiompanou then spoke about the developments in healing in cancer from Asclepius and Hippocrates to the present day, and Ruth Kaye brought the day to a close talking about her experiences of natural healing and meditation in the NHS (see Programme) and led a short meditation. Attendees received the gift of a DVD from Ruth.
There will be a chance to attend both Study Days when they are repeated for those not living near London.

These events are open to all healers, whether fully qualified or students. However, anyone not belonging to a healing organisation but interested in healing will be very welcome.
